Cheesy Pork Chops
Ingredients
-
4 boneless or bone-in pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
-
2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
-
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
-
½ teaspoon dried thyme or oregano (optional)
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Preheat oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). -
Season the pork chops:
Pat the pork chops dry. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. -
Sear the pork chops:
In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil or butter. Sear pork chops 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. -
Top with cheese:
Transfer the skillet to the oven (or move pork chops to a baking dish if your skillet isn’t oven-safe).
Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over each pork chop. -
Bake:
Bake for 10–15 minutes, until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly. -
Garnish and serve:
Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving. Pair with vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
Tips & Variations
-
Extra flavor: Mix cheese with a little Dijon mustard or cooked onions before topping.
-
Crispy topping: Combine cheese with breadcrumbs for a crunchy crust.
-
Cheese options: Gruyère, Monterey Jack, or Pepper Jack work well for different flavors.
I can also give a one-pan version with a creamy cheese sauce that simmers with the pork for extra juiciness if you want. Do you want that version too?
