2¼ teaspoons (1 packet) instant yeast
-
¾ cup warm water (about 105°F / 40°C)
-
1 teaspoon sugar
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For Finishing
-
1 tablespoon melted butter
-
½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon parsley flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough (if making from scratch)
-
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
-
Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.
-
Cover and let rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
(Skip this step if using store-bought pizza dough.)
2. Prepare the Filling
-
In a medium bowl, combine cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
-
Mix until evenly coated and creamy.
3. Assemble the Calzones
-
Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
-
Roll each piece into a 6–7 inch circle on a lightly floured surface.
-
Spoon about ¼ of the filling onto one half of each circle, leaving about ½ inch of edge space.
-
Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape.
-
Press edges together and crimp with a fork to seal completely.
4. Air Fry
-
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
-
Lightly spray the basket with nonstick spray.
-
Place 1–2 calzones in the basket (depending on size, do not overcrowd).
-
Brush the tops with melted butter mixed with garlic powder and parsley.
-
Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.
5. Serve
-
Serve warm with extra Alfredo sauce or marinara for dipping.
Tips
-
To prevent soggy centers, keep the filling thick and avoid overfilling.
-
Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes.
-
Add-ins: spinach, mushrooms, or bacon bits pair well with Alfredo sauce.
