Apple Pie with Just 3 Apples and in 10 Minutes

Craving something sweet but short on time? This quick apple pie uses only 3 apples and simple pantry ingredients. Prep takes about 10 minutes, and the oven does the rest.


Ingredients

  • 3 medium apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
  • 1 sheet ready-made puff pastry or pie dough
  • 3–4 tablespoons sugar (white or brown)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for richness)
  • 1 egg (for brushing, optional)

Quick Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the apples: Toss sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  3. Prepare the crust: Roll out the pastry into a baking dish or onto a lined tray.
  4. Add filling: Spread the apples evenly over the dough. Dot with small pieces of butter if using.
  5. Fold edges: Fold the edges slightly over the apples for a rustic look.
  6. Brush & bake: Brush edges with beaten egg (optional). Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Optional Add-Ins

  • A sprinkle of nutmeg
  • Chopped walnuts
  • A drizzle of honey
  • A scoop of vanilla ice cream when serving

Tips for Best Flavor

  • Use a mix of sweet and tart apples if possible.
  • Slice apples thinly so they soften quickly.
  • For extra crispiness, sprinkle a little sugar on the crust before baking.
