What Is The Normal Blood Pressure For Each Age

Posted on February 24, 2026 by Admin

Blood pressure naturally changes with age, but there are general guidelines for what’s considered normal. It’s measured as systolic/diastolic (mmHg):

Age Group Normal Blood Pressure Range (mmHg)
Children (1–12) ~90–110 / 55–75
Teens (13–19) ~110–120 / 65–80
Adults (20–39) ~120/80
Adults (40–59) ~120–130 / 80–85
Seniors (60+) ~130–140 / 80–90

Notes:

  • Systolic = pressure when the heart beats
  • Diastolic = pressure when the heart rests
  • Elevated blood pressure: consistently above these ranges may require lifestyle changes or medication.
  • Individual variation matters: fitness, weight, stress, and medical conditions all influence blood pressure.

⚠️ Always confirm with a doctor, especially if readings are consistently high or low.

I can also make a visual chart showing ideal blood pressure by decade, which makes it easy to track your numbers over time.

Do you want me to do that?
