Air Fryer Poached Eggs
Serves: 1–4
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 6–8 minutes
Ingredients
-
Fresh eggs (as many as your air fryer can fit in small ramekins)
-
Water
-
Cooking spray or butter, for greasing ramekins
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
Equipment
-
Air fryer
-
Small ramekins or heatproof silicone cups
Instructions
1. Prepare the Ramekins
-
Lightly grease each ramekin with butter or nonstick spray.
-
Add 2 tablespoons of water to each ramekin.
2. Add the Egg
-
Crack one egg into each ramekin, being careful not to break the yolk.
3. Air Fry
-
Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for a couple of minutes (optional but helps consistency).
-
Place the ramekins in the air fryer basket carefully.
-
Air fry for 5–6 minutes for soft, runny yolks, or 7–8 minutes for firmer eggs.
4. Remove and Drain
-
Use tongs or a towel to carefully lift the ramekins out.
-
Use a slotted spoon to lift the egg out of the water and let it drain briefly on paper towel.
5. Serve
-
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
-
Serve on toast, English muffins, or over avocado toast, salads, or grain bowls.
Tips
-
Fresh eggs hold their shape better and make neater poached eggs.
-
If your air fryer runs hot, check at 5 minutes to prevent overcooking.
-
You can poach multiple eggs at once if your air fryer fits several ramekins.
-
For creamier eggs, use 1½ tablespoons water instead of 2.
