Bananas won’t spoil in just a few days; with this method,

Bananas ripen quickly because they produce a lot of ethylene gas, but there’s a simple way to keep them fresh longer.

How to Make Bananas Last Longer

  1. Separate the Bananas
    • Break the bunch apart. Bananas ripen faster when kept together due to concentrated ethylene gas.
  2. Wrap the Stems
    • Cover each stem tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil. This slows the release of ethylene and delays ripening.
  3. Store at Room Temperature Until Ripe
    • Keep unripe bananas on the counter until they reach your preferred ripeness.
  4. Refrigerate When Almost Ripe
    • Once they’re yellow (with or without a few brown spots), put them in the fridge. The peel may darken, but the fruit inside stays firm and fresh longer.
  5. Optional: Hang the Bananas
    • Hanging bananas prevents bruising and allows air circulation, which slows spoilage.

💡 Extra Tip: For long-term storage, peel and freeze bananas for smoothies, baking, or snacks—they can last months in the freezer.

I can also share a step-by-step method to keep bananas fresh for 2–3 weeks using simple kitchen hacks. Do you want me to do that?
