Here’s a clear, professional, no-emoji recipe for Chicken Alfredo Air Fryer Calzones — golden, crispy dough pockets filled with creamy Alfredo chicken and melted cheese.

Chicken Alfredo Air Fryer Calzones

Servings

4 calzones

Ingredients

For the Dough (Shortcut or Homemade)

Option 1 – Shortcut:

  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

Option 2 – Homemade Dough (if preferred):

  • 2¼ teaspoons (1 packet) instant yeast

  • ¾ cup warm water (about 105°F / 40°C)

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Filling

  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced

  • ½ cup Alfredo sauce (homemade or store-bought)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For Finishing

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon parsley flakes (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough (if making from scratch)

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth.

  3. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

(Skip this step if using store-bought pizza dough.)

2. Prepare the Filling

  1. In a medium bowl, combine cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  2. Mix until evenly coated and creamy.

3. Assemble the Calzones

  1. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.

  2. Roll each piece into a 6–7 inch circle on a lightly floured surface.

  3. Spoon about ¼ of the filling onto one half of each circle, leaving about ½ inch of edge space.

  4. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape.

  5. Press edges together and crimp with a fork to seal completely.

4. Air Fry

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.

  2. Lightly spray the basket with nonstick spray.

  3. Place 1–2 calzones in the basket (depending on size, do not overcrowd).

  4. Brush the tops with melted butter mixed with garlic powder and parsley.

  5. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.

5. Serve

  • Serve warm with extra Alfredo sauce or marinara for dipping.

Tips

  • To prevent soggy centers, keep the filling thick and avoid overfilling.

  • Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–4 minutes.

  • Add-ins: spinach, mushrooms, or bacon bits pair well with Alfredo sauce.
