Crispy Air Fryer Potato Slices
Servings
4 servings
Ingredients
-
3 medium russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
-
1½ tablespoons olive oil
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon paprika (or smoked paprika for a deeper flavor)
-
½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
-
¼ teaspoon black pepper
-
Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese or ½ teaspoon dried herbs (rosemary, thyme, or parsley)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Potatoes
-
Wash and scrub the potatoes well (you can peel them if preferred).
-
Slice into even rounds, about ⅛–¼ inch thick for the best crispness.
-
Soak the slices in cold water for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch.
-
Drain and pat completely dry with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel.
2. Season
-
Place the dried potato slices in a large bowl.
-
Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
-
Sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings. Toss again to coat.
3. Preheat the Air Fryer
-
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.
4. Air Fry
-
Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches for even crisping).
-
Air fry for 12–15 minutes, flipping or shaking halfway through.
-
Cook until golden brown and crispy on the edges.
5. Serve
-
Serve hot as a snack or side dish.
-
Optionally sprinkle with a bit of extra salt or Parmesan right after cooking.
Tips
-
The thinner the slices, the crispier the result.
-
If you want a texture similar to chips, slice very thin and reduce cooking time slightly.
-
For extra crunch, lightly dust the slices with 1 tablespoon cornstarch before adding oil and seasoning.
-
Serve with dipping sauces like ketchup, garlic aioli, ranch, or spicy mayo.
Would you like a version that includes a crispy coating (like battered or breaded potato slices) for an even crunchier style?
