Ingredients

  • 3 medium russet or Yukon Gold potatoes

  • 1½ tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika (or smoked paprika for a deeper flavor)

  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese or ½ teaspoon dried herbs (rosemary, thyme, or parsley)


Instructions

1. Prepare the Potatoes

  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes well (you can peel them if preferred).

  2. Slice into even rounds, about ⅛–¼ inch thick for the best crispness.

  3. Soak the slices in cold water for 20–30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  4. Drain and pat completely dry with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel.

2. Season

  1. Place the dried potato slices in a large bowl.

  2. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.

  3. Sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings. Toss again to coat.

3. Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes.

4. Air Fry

  1. Arrange the potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches for even crisping).

  2. Air fry for 12–15 minutes, flipping or shaking halfway through.

  3. Cook until golden brown and crispy on the edges.

5. Serve

  • Serve hot as a snack or side dish.

  • Optionally sprinkle with a bit of extra salt or Parmesan right after cooking.


Tips

  • The thinner the slices, the crispier the result.

  • If you want a texture similar to chips, slice very thin and reduce cooking time slightly.

  • For extra crunch, lightly dust the slices with 1 tablespoon cornstarch before adding oil and seasoning.

  • Serve with dipping sauces like ketchup, garlic aioli, ranch, or spicy mayo.
