🍯 Honey Garlic Ribs
Ingredients
-
3–4 lbs (1.5–2 kg) pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
-
1 tsp garlic powder
-
1 tsp paprika (optional, for color)
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
-
½ cup honey
-
¼ cup soy sauce
-
¼ cup brown sugar
-
2 tbsp ketchup
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
-
1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
-
Prep the ribs
-
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
-
Remove the silver membrane from the back of the ribs for tenderness.
-
Season ribs generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
-
Place ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet or in a roasting pan; cover tightly with foil.
-
-
Bake low and slow
-
Bake for 2½–3 hours, until ribs are tender and the meat starts pulling away from the bones.
-
-
Make the honey garlic sauce
-
In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, garlic, and vinegar.
-
Bring to a simmer for 5–7 minutes.
-
(Optional: stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer another 1–2 minutes until thickened.)
-
-
Glaze and broil
-
Remove ribs from oven and discard foil.
-
Brush ribs generously with the honey garlic sauce.
-
Broil on high for 3–5 minutes, until caramelized and sticky — keep an eye on them!
-
-
Serve
-
Let rest a few minutes, then slice and serve with extra sauce drizzled over the top.
-
💡 Tips
-
For even more flavor, marinate the ribs in the sauce for a few hours (or overnight) before baking.
-
To make in a slow cooker, cook on low for 6–7 hours, then glaze and broil for 5 minutes.
-
Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions for a restaurant-style finish.
