How do I remove these stains? Kitchen I tried baking soda and dawn soap but only a small bit came off. Any tips would be great!

Got it! Let’s tackle those stubborn kitchen stains step by step. I’ll assume these are typical kitchen stains like grease, coffee, or food spills on counters, sinks, or stovetops.

1. Identify the Stain Type

  • Grease / Oil: Shiny spots, slippery feel.
  • Coffee / Tea / Wine: Brownish tint.
  • Tomato / Curry / Spices: Deep yellow-orange stains.
  • Rust / Hard Water: Orange or white mineral deposits.

Knowing the type helps pick the most effective cleaner.

2. Stronger Cleaning Options

For Grease / Oil Stains

  • Vinegar + Dish Soap Method:
    1. Mix 1 cup warm water + 1 tbsp dish soap + 1 tbsp white vinegar.
    2. Apply to the stain, let sit 5–10 minutes.
    3. Scrub gently with a soft sponge.
    4. Rinse and dry.
  • Optional: Sprinkle cornstarch or baking soda on stubborn grease first, let it absorb oil for 10–15 minutes, then scrub.

For Coffee / Tea / Tomato Stains

  • Lemon + Baking Soda Paste:
    1. Mix baking soda + a few drops of lemon juice into a paste.
    2. Apply to the stain, let sit 10–15 minutes.
    3. Scrub gently, rinse thoroughly.
  • Hydrogen Peroxide (for light-colored surfaces): Apply a few drops, let sit 5 minutes, rinse.

For Rust / Mineral Deposits

  • Vinegar Soak:
    1. Soak a cloth in white vinegar, place on stain for 15–30 minutes.
    2. Scrub lightly with a non-scratch sponge.
    3. Repeat if necessary.
  • Cream of Tartar Paste: Baking soda + cream of tartar + water → scrub rust stains gently.

3. Tips for Success

  • Always test a small hidden area first to avoid surface damage.
  • Use non-abrasive scrubbing tools on delicate countertops (no steel wool on laminate).
  • Repeat applications for very stubborn stains—it often takes 2–3 treatments.
  • Seal porous surfaces (marble, stone) to prevent future stains.

💡 Takeaway:
Baking soda + Dawn is a good start, but for tough kitchen stains you often need a combination: absorbent powder (baking soda/cornstarch) + mild acid (vinegar/lemon) + gentle scrubbing. Patience and repeat applications work wonders.
