π¦ King Crab Legs with Garlic Butter
Ingredients (serves 2β4)
-
2 lbs (900 g) king crab legs (pre-cooked, frozen or fresh)
-
4 tbsp unsalted butter
-
3β4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
-
Salt, to taste
-
Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
-
Lemon wedges, for serving
πΉ Instructions
1. Prepare the crab legs
-
If frozen, thaw crab legs in the refrigerator overnight or run under cold water for faster thawing.
-
Using kitchen shears, cut along the leg shells to make it easier to extract meat later.
2. Steam or boil the crab legs
-
Steaming: Fill a large pot with 1β2 inches of water and place a steamer basket inside. Bring water to a boil, then add crab legs. Cover and steam 5β7 minutes until heated through.
-
Boiling: Bring a large pot of water to boil. Add crab legs and cook 4β5 minutes.
(King crab is already cooked, so youβre just reheating.)
3. Make garlic butter
-
In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt butter.
-
Stir in minced garlic and cook 1β2 minutes on low heat until fragrant.
-
Add a pinch of salt and lemon juice. Optional: stir in chopped parsley.
4. Serve
-
Place crab legs on a platter and drizzle with garlic butter (or serve butter on the side for dipping).
-
Serve with lemon wedges and enjoy with crusty bread or a side of roasted vegetables.
π‘ Tips
-
Donβt overcook β crab legs are already cooked; overheating can dry out the meat.
-
For extra flavor, brush the crab legs with garlic butter and broil for 2β3 minutes before serving.
-
Pair with a chilled white wine like Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay for a true seafood feast.
If you want, I can also give you a baked garlic butter version where the crab legs are roasted in the oven with butter and herbs β even more flavorful and easy to serve at a dinner table. Do you want that version?
