🍽️ Old-Fashioned Meatloaf Recipe
Ingredients:
For the meatloaf:

1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20 for flavor and moisture)

1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-style)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup milk

2 eggs
-
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp ketchup
-
1 tsp salt
-
1/2 tsp black pepper
-
1/2 tsp dried thyme (optional)

1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
For the glaze:

1/3 cup ketchup
-
2 tbsp brown sugar
-
1 tbsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)

1 tsp apple cider vinegar (optional, for tang)
Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the meatloaf mixture:

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, and seasonings.

Mix gently with your hands or a spoon until just combined—don’t overmix or it can get tough.

Shape the loaf:

Transfer the mixture to the loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet.

Make the glaze:

In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and vinegar.

Spread half of the glaze on top of the meatloaf.

Bake:

Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, then spread on the remaining glaze.

Return to oven and bake for another 15–20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing to hold its shape.

Serve with mashed potatoes, green beans, or your favorite comfort sides.
