  • 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (optional, minced)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or mixed herbs (optional)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

  • Peel (optional) and slice potatoes thinly
  • Slice onions evenly

Step 2: Layer in the Slow Cooker

  • Grease the slow cooker with butter
  • Add a layer of potatoes
  • Add a layer of onions
  • Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic, and herbs
  • Repeat layers until everything is used

Step 3: Add Liquid
