Classic Homemade Steak Sauce

Ingredients

1/2 cup (120 ml) ketchup

1/4 cup (60 ml) Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard)

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional: 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne for heat
Instructions
1. Combine Ingredients

In a small saucepan, add all ingredients: ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, mustard, brown sugar, lemon juice, spices, and optional heat.
2. Simmer

Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
3. Adjust Seasoning

Taste and adjust as needed — more sugar for sweetness, vinegar for tang, or pepper for spice.
4. Cool and Store

Let the sauce cool, then transfer to a clean jar or bottle.

Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
