Posted on March 5, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a full recipe for a Sugar-Free Apple Cocoa Cake — moist, flavorful, and naturally sweetened with apples:

🍎 Sugar-Free Apple Cocoa Cake

Ingredients (Serves 8)

  • 2 medium apples, peeled and grated
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour or all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce (adds moisture)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil or melted coconut oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: cinnamon, nuts, or sugar-free chocolate chips

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour an 8-inch cake pan or line with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and optional cinnamon.

3️⃣ Combine Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, mix grated apples, applesauce, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

4️⃣ Combine Wet & Dry

  • Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients.
  • Stir gently until just combined — don’t overmix.
  • Fold in optional nuts or sugar-free chocolate chips.

5️⃣ Bake

  • Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.

💡 Tips

  • Extra moist: Add ½ cup grated zucchini along with apples.
  • Flavor boost: Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg on top before baking.
  • Serving suggestion: Top with a dollop of Greek yogurt or sugar-free frosting.

This cake is naturally sweetened by apples and perfect for those avoiding added sugar. It’s soft, chocolatey, and kid-friendly.

If you want, I can also create a “single-serve mug version” of this sugar-free apple cocoa cake for a quick 5-minute treat.
