Never leave your charger plugged into the socket without your phone attached! My electrician warned me about this, and I wish I did this sooner!

Posted on March 2, 2026 by Admin

Your electrician gave solid advice! 🔌 Leaving a charger plugged in without a device attached can seem harmless, but it does carry some risks:

  1. Energy waste – Chargers draw a tiny “phantom” current even when not charging a device. Over time, this adds up on your electricity bill.
  2. Heat buildup – Even idle chargers can get slightly warm. If they’re cheap or faulty, this can pose a fire hazard.
  3. Reduced lifespan – Constantly keeping a charger plugged in can degrade its internal components faster.

A simple habit to protect your home and devices: unplug chargers when not in use, or use a power strip with an on/off switch to cut power easily.

If you want, I can share a few quick safety hacks for charging phones safely that most people don’t know. Do you want me to?
