Texas-Style Blueberry Cobbler (Sweet, Buttery Summer Classic)

Posted on March 4, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a classic Texas-Style Blueberry Cobbler — sweet, buttery, and perfect for summer:

🫐 Texas-Style Blueberry Cobbler

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract or ½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2️⃣ Prepare the filling: In a bowl, mix blueberries with ¼ cup sugar. Set aside.

3️⃣ Make the batter:

  • In another bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Stir in milk and melted butter (and vanilla if using) until smooth.

4️⃣ Assemble the cobbler:

  • Pour batter into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish.
  • Spoon blueberries evenly over the batter — don’t stir; they’ll sink naturally as it bakes.

5️⃣ Bake: 40–45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

6️⃣ Serve warm: With vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

🍽 Why It’s a Summer Classic

  • Sweet, juicy blueberries
  • Buttery, tender batter that soaks up the fruit
  • Easy to make but feels special
  • Can be served for dessert, brunch, or a summer party

If you want, I can also give a “5-minute shortcut version” using frozen blueberries and a simple biscuit topping that tastes just as good — perfect for last-minute summer cravings.
