🥔 Classic Baked Potato (Crispy Skin, Fluffy Inside)

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1–2 tsp coarse salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional)

🔥 Oven Method (Best Texture)

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
2️⃣ Scrub & dry potatoes thoroughly.
3️⃣ Pierce each potato 4–5 times with a fork.
4️⃣ Rub with olive oil and sprinkle generously with salt.
5️⃣ Bake directly on the rack (place a tray below for drips) for 45–60 minutes.
6️⃣ They’re done when a knife slides in easily and the skin is crisp.

👉 For extra crisp skin, skip wrapping in foil.


⚡ Quick Methods

Microwave (Fastest)

  • Pierce potato.
  • Microwave 5 minutes, flip, then 3–5 more minutes.
  • Skin won’t be as crispy (you can finish 5–10 minutes in oven).

Air Fryer

  • 400°F (200°C) for 35–40 minutes.
  • Very crispy skin.

🧈 Classic Toppings

  • Butter
  • Sour cream
  • Shredded cheddar
  • Chives
  • Bacon bits
  • Steamed broccoli

  • Use russets for fluffy interiors.
