Posted on March 5, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a full recipe for a Dorito Taco Salad — crunchy, cheesy, and perfect for a quick meal or party.

🌮 Dorito Taco Salad

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos (or any flavored Doritos you like)
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade: chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ cup black olives, sliced
  • 1 cup corn kernels (fresh, canned, or thawed frozen)
  • ½ cup red onion, diced (optional)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup salsa or taco sauce
  • 2–3 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Meat

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Drain excess fat, then stir in taco seasoning and ¼ cup water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.

2️⃣ Prepare the Base

  • Chop the lettuce and place it in a large salad bowl.
  • Add cherry tomatoes, corn, black olives, and red onion.

3️⃣ Layer the Crunch

  • Crush about 2 cups of Doritos lightly and sprinkle over the salad for texture.
  • You can also reserve some whole chips for topping at the end.

4️⃣ Assemble

  • Add the cooked taco meat on top.
  • Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Drizzle sour cream and salsa evenly over the salad.

5️⃣ Garnish & Serve

  • Top with fresh cilantro if using.
  • Serve immediately to keep the Doritos crunchy.

💡 Tips & Variations

  • Make it vegetarian: Swap meat for black beans or lentils.
  • Extra heat: Add jalapeños, hot sauce, or crushed red pepper.
  • Layered Taco Salad: In a large dish, layer Doritos, lettuce, beans, meat, cheese, and sauces for a party-style presentation.
  • Meal prep: Keep Doritos separate until ready to serve to prevent sogginess.

This Dorito Taco Salad is easy, colorful, and satisfying, perfect for weeknight dinners, potlucks, or game-day snacks.
