Heaven on Earth Cake

- 1 container (8 oz / 225 g) whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), thawed
- 2 tablespoons sliced almonds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Cake Layer
Cut the angel food cake into bite-sized cubes and spread half of them evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish.
2. Add the Cherry Layer
Spoon about two-thirds of the cherry pie filling over the cake pieces.
3. Add the Remaining Cake
Place the remaining cake cubes on top of the cherries.
4. Make the Cream Layer
In a bowl, whisk the pudding mix with cold milk until smooth and slightly thickened.
Stir in the sour cream until well combined.
5. Spread the Cream
Spread the pudding mixture evenly over the cake layers.
6. Top with Whipped Topping
Spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer.
Drizzle the remaining cherry pie filling on top.
7. Chill
Refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours (or overnight) so the flavors blend together.
8. Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle sliced almonds on top before serving if desired.
