My nana taught me this hack to make dusty blinds sparkle in 2 mins with 0 work. Here’s how it works

Ah, this sounds like one of those quick household “grandma hacks” for blinds. The trick usually involves using an everyday item to dust and shine blinds effortlessly. Here’s a safe and effective method:

Nana’s 2-Minute Dusty Blinds Hack

  1. Grab a Pair of Old Socks or a Microfiber Glove
    • Slide a sock over your hand (or wear a microfiber cleaning glove).
  2. Sprinkle or Lightly Dampen with Water or Vinegar
    • Optional: mix ½ cup white vinegar + 1 cup water in a spray bottle.
    • Lightly mist the sock/glove—don’t soak the blinds.
  3. Run Your Hand Along Each Slat
    • Slide your sock/glove along the top and bottom of each slat.
    • Dust sticks to the fabric, and any residue is slightly wiped away.
  4. Flip the Slats & Repeat
    • Turn the blinds to the other side and repeat.

Why It Works

  • The soft fabric grabs dust better than a feather duster.
  • A tiny bit of moisture makes dust cling and adds a subtle shine.
  • Takes under 2 minutes for standard blinds, no heavy scrubbing needed.

Extra Tip: For a sparkling finish, you can add a few drops of lemon oil to your microfiber glove—it leaves blinds looking polished and smelling fresh.
