Military Diet: Lose 3 kilograms in 3 days with this program (full menu)

The “Military Diet” (also called the 3-day diet) is a very low-calorie crash diet that claims you can lose up to 3 kg in 3 days. Despite its name, it is not linked to any military organization, and there is no scientific evidence that it produces safe or lasting fat loss.

It works mainly by severe calorie restriction (~800–1,100 kcal/day), which causes short-term weight drop mostly from water + glycogen loss, not pure fat.


⚠️ Important warning

Before the menu:
This diet is considered unsustainable and nutritionally incomplete. It may cause:

  • Fatigue and dizziness
  • Muscle loss
  • Headaches
  • Rebound weight gain
  • Nutrient deficiencies

It is not recommended for long-term weight management.


📋 Military Diet Full 3-Day Menu

🥪 Day 1

Breakfast

  • 1 slice toast
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/2 grapefruit
  • 1 cup black coffee or tea (no sugar/milk)

Lunch

  • 1 slice toast
  • 1/2 cup tuna
  • Black coffee or tea

Dinner

  • 85g (3 oz) any meat (chicken, beef, or fish)
  • 1 cup green beans
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 small apple
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream

🥚 Day 2

Breakfast

  • 1 slice toast
  • 1 boiled egg
  • 1/2 banana

Lunch

  • 1 boiled egg
  • 5 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (or yogurt)

Dinner

  • 2 hot dogs (no bun)
  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 1/2 cup carrots
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

🧀 Day 3

Breakfast

  • 5 saltine crackers
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese
  • 1 small apple

Lunch

  • 1 slice toast
  • 1 boiled egg

Dinner

  • 1 cup tuna or meat
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream

🧠 What actually happens

  • Weight loss is mostly water loss, not fat
  • Metabolism may temporarily slow down
  • Weight often returns quickly after normal eating resumes

👍 Healthier alternative (recommended)

If your goal is real fat loss:

  • Aim for 0.5–1 kg per week
  • Eat high-protein foods (eggs, chicken, lentils)
  • Reduce sugary drinks and fried foods
  • Walk 7,000–10,000 steps daily
  • Maintain a moderate calorie deficit (not starvation)
