Stuffed Bell Peppers

Here’s a simple, tasty way to make Stuffed Bell Peppers at home.


🌶️ Ingredients (serves 3–4)

  • 4 large bell peppers (any color)
  • 250–300 g minced beef or chicken (or lentils for vegetarian)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Cheese for topping (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the peppers

  • Cut the tops off and remove seeds
  • Lightly boil or steam for 3–4 minutes (softens them slightly)

2. Cook the filling

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Sauté onion and garlic until golden
  • Add minced meat (or lentils) and cook until browned
  • Mix in salt, pepper, paprika, and tomato sauce
  • Cook for 5–7 minutes
  • Stir in cooked rice and mix well

3. Stuff the peppers

  • Fill each bell pepper with the mixture
  • Place them upright in a baking dish

4. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 180°C
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes
  • Add cheese on top in the last 5 minutes if using

🍽️ Serving tip

Serve warm with yogurt, salad, or garlic sauce for extra flavor.
