Slow Cooker Crave-Worthy Cabbage & Meat (Dump Recipe)

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped (or roughly shredded)
  • 500g–750g beef mince (or chicken mince)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2–3 potatoes, diced (optional but makes it hearty)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (or 3 fresh chopped tomatoes)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1–2 tsp salt (to taste)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin (optional but adds depth)
  • 1–2 stock cubes (beef or chicken)
  • ½ cup water or broth
  • 2 tbsp oil (or skip if using fatty meat)
  • Optional: chili flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Optional quick step (for deeper flavor): Brown the mince with onion and garlic in a pan for 5–7 minutes.
    You can skip this, but it does boost flavor.
  2. Dump everything into the slow cooker:
    • Start with cabbage at the bottom
    • Add potatoes (if using)
    • Add meat, onion, garlic
    • Pour in tomatoes, tomato paste, water/broth
    • Sprinkle all spices and stock cubes on top
  3. Stir lightly so flavors start mixing, but don’t overwork it.
  4. Cook:
    • Low: 6–8 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours
  5. Final touch:
    • Taste and adjust salt/pepper
    • If it’s watery, remove lid for last 20–30 minutes to thicken
