🥘 Slow-Cooker Cabbage Meal

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or chicken (optional for non-vegetarian version)
  • 2 large carrots, sliced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: 1-2 tbsp apple cider vinegar for a tangy kick

🔹 Instructions:

  1. Prepare ingredients: Chop cabbage, slice carrots, and dice onion. Mince garlic.
  2. Brown meat (optional): In a skillet, brown the ground meat with a bit of oil. This adds extra flavor.
  3. Combine in slow cooker: Add cabbage, carrots, onion, garlic, diced tomatoes, broth, spices, and meat to the slow cooker. Mix well.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until cabbage is soft and flavors meld.
  5. Taste & adjust: Add more salt, pepper, or a splash of vinegar if desired.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if you like. This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread.
