Never leave your charger plugged into the socket without your phone attached! My electrician warned me about this, and I wish I did this sooner!

Your electrician is correct—leaving a charger plugged in without your phone attached might seem harmless, but it can have hidden risks:

1️⃣ Wastes Energy

  • Even when not connected to a phone, chargers can draw small amounts of electricity (called “vampire power”).
  • Over time, this increases your electricity bill slightly.

2️⃣ Fire Risk

  • Faulty or cheap chargers left plugged in can overheat, especially during power surges.
  • This can potentially start a fire, particularly if the charger is on flammable surfaces.

3️⃣ Shortens Charger Lifespan

  • Constantly being plugged in stresses the charger’s components, reducing efficiency and durability.

4️⃣ Safety Tips

  1. Unplug chargers when not in use.
  2. Use certified, high-quality chargers.
  3. Consider a power strip with a switch for multiple devices.
  4. Avoid leaving chargers on beds, sofas, or paper surfaces while plugged in.

💡 Quick Tip: Make it a habit to unplug your charger immediately after use—it’s safer, saves energy, and helps your chargers last longer.

I can also create a visual guide showing the risks of leaving chargers plugged in and safe charging habits if you want.
