That claim isn’t medically reliable.
There is no universal ear drop that can make someone “regain hearing” just by putting two drops in the ear. Hearing loss has many different causes, and treatment depends entirely on the cause, for example:
- Earwax blockage: sometimes ear drops can help soften wax, but you usually need proper cleaning by a clinician.
- Ear infection: may need prescription antibiotic or antifungal drops.
- Fluid in the middle ear (Eustachian tube issues): often treated differently, not just drops.
- Nerve-related (sensorineural) hearing loss: ear drops do not reverse this; it may require steroids, hearing aids, or other medical care depending on timing and severity.
If someone suddenly loses hearing, especially in one ear, it can be urgent (for example, sudden sensorineural hearing loss), and early treatment matters a lot.
If you tell me what symptoms you’re seeing (pain, blockage feeling, sudden loss, one ear or both), I can help you figure out what’s more likely going on and what the safest next step is.
