Very dirty mop, do not buy it again: a drop of this ingredient and it will be as good as new again

Posted on April 27, 2026 by Admin

If your mop looks too dirty or smells bad, you usually don’t need to throw it away. One simple ingredient can make it almost like new again:

🧼 Vinegar (best all-round option)

White vinegar works well because it breaks down grease, kills odor, and loosens dirt.

How to use it:

  • Fill a bucket with warm water
  • Add about 1 cup of white vinegar
  • Soak the mop head for 30–60 minutes
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water
  • Let it dry completely in sunlight if possible

⭐ Extra cleaning boost (if very dirty)

You can also add:

  • A little dish soap (for heavy grease)
  • Or a pinch of baking soda (for odor)

⚠️ Important: Don’t mix vinegar with bleach—this creates toxic gas.

When to replace instead

If the mop fibers are torn, permanently stained, or smell stays even after washing, it’s better to replace it.

If you want, tell me what your mop is made of (cotton, microfiber, sponge), and I can give a more precise method.
