What’s the Small Round Hole on Your Nail Clipper For?

Posted on May 1, 2026 by Admin

That small round hole on a nail clipper is usually there for one practical reason: attachment and storage.

Most commonly, it serves as a keyring or lanyard hole, so you can:

  • Attach the clipper to a keychain
  • Hang it on a hook in a bathroom or grooming kit
  • Carry it more easily without losing it

On some designs, especially multi-tool nail clippers, that hole can also be used to attach:

  • A small cleaning pick or file accessory
  • A chain or case loop

In short, it’s not part of the cutting mechanism—it’s just for convenience and portability.

If you’ve seen a slightly different “hole” on certain clippers (like near the lever), that’s a separate feature used for the pivot mechanism or leverage system—so tell me if that’s what you meant and I can break that down too.
